The Broken Chair
This is an enormous chair. In fact, this is an enormous, broken chair smacked right in the middle of Place des Nations, Geneva. In front of the European United Nations. Standing tall with only three legs, this eloquent sculpture symbolises the fight against land mines and cluster bombs, understandably with its missing leg. Where better to position the broken chair than in full view of the world's delegates entering the UN building. It is a wonder how a structure so huge can stand straight with only three legs without tipping over. Let's hope it doesn't. If it does and crushes somebody's leg, that will be ironic.

Plastic Solar Cells For Electronic Devices
Today, silicon-based solar cells are flooding the market. Industry pundits can foresee a hopeful future for low-cost, flexible solar cells. If we can make solar devices other than silicon based materials then they can be used for all sorts of applications beyond just the traditional solar panels on house rooftops. It will be great if we can have solar cells for portable electronic devices and MacBook Pro 15 inch Battery too. Luping Yu, Professor in Chemistry, and Yongye Liang, a Ph.D. student, both at the University of Chicago, and five co-authors are working to develop a new semiconducting material called PTB1 and HSTNN-LB31, which converts sunlight into electricity. The University accredited the patent rights to the technology to Solarmer last September. The license covers numerous polymers under development in Yu¡¯s laboratory, confirmed by Matthew Martin. Long Toss
Purpose: To develop arm strength and accuracy. This will help develop good outfielders, check these outfield softball fielding tips. Procedure: Have one ball for each pair of players and gloves. Divide the team into pairs. Partners should be of similar age and skill level. Players stand facing each other approximately 30 feet apart. Increase the distance as the season progresses. Each pair has a softball. On the "go" command, one partner throws to the other, and when the coach yells "Go" a second time the partners throw the ball back. Players move back 5 to 10 steps after each pair of throws. Coaches should move up and down the line to make sure players are using correct throwing form, specifically the follow-through. When the players are 80 to 100 feet apart or more, encourage smaller players or those who are not as strong to get the ball to their partner on one bounce.
